Shillong, Jan 21: The chief minister Conrad Sangma could not announce the agreement on the new boundary demarcation on the occasion of the golden jubilee celebrations of Meghalaya, on Friday
In his online speech, the chief minister said within a few weeks or months, the agreement will be arrived at.

The state government had hoped for the announcement of the border deal on January 21, but could not do so as the union home ministry will have to examine the reports.
This was conveyed to chief ministers of Assam and Meghalaya when they met union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday in New Delhi.
They are expected to meet the union home minister again after January 26.
