Shillong, Jan 2: Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers and Ministers were not present on the first working day of 2025, on Thursday
Chief Secretary and a few officers attended the office at the main and additional secretariats.

Many staff from the remote areas of the state are yet to return.
During a visit, it was known that as only two working days were left this week, some semblance of work will start only next week once atleast 50 percent of the staff join offices.
There were some staff in the district council affairs department as elections to KHADC and JHADC are scheduled in February.
