Sohra, Jan 10: Cabinet retreat is being held at Hotel Polo Orchid here but the government is yet to decide on district status to the heritage place despite demands.
After the cabinet meeting on Friday, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma admitted that Sohra (Cherrapunji), Dadenggre among other areas are seeking district status.

“However, we are not saying yes or no but there are geographical and financial constraints”, the chief minister said.
He added that the government would examine the demand.
