Hissar, May 24 (UNI): Wrestler Sakshi Malik on Wednesday alleged that from the day wrestlers started their agitation at Jantar-Mantar, BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was giving statements which did not make any sense.
Ms Malik, one of the wrestlers agitating against Brij Bhushan for the last 30 days, was speaking to reporters during her visit to Kisan Sangharsh Samiti members at Ramayan toll plaza. She said that there was no fair investigation being done against Brij Bhushan into the wrestlers’ serious allegations.
She announced that as there was no action taken against the BJP MP, a ‘mahila mahapanchayat’ (women meeting) will be held before the new parliament building on May 28.
Replying to a question, she said that it was not easy for them to raise a voice against a person who was in a very powerful position even if around 40 cases were against him already.
She said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take cognizance of the matter adding that if he calls wrestlers for talks, they are ready to go. Her husband Satyavrat Kadyan was accompanying her.
Samiti members announced that a sit-in protest would be started from Thursday on the toll plaza. Later, she also participated in a farmers’ meeting organised by ‘Pagdi Sambhal Jatta’ in Fatehabad.
Addressing the crowd, she said that the union government had not bothered to listen to them even though they are protesting peacefully at Jantar-Mantar for the last 30 days. She said that even the first information report was filed after the Supreme Court’s direction.
