According to both the DC and the SP, the Mendipathar railway has brought only benefits to the people of the area as the farmers are  able to sell their agri-horticulture produce in Guwahati market.

According to the SP,  the police had already taken anti-infiltration initiatives to check influx, if any.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had opened the railway station online mode on November 30, 2014.
