NPP ‘failed’ to keep promises; Kazi vows to develop Rajabala

Rajabala, Feb 22: Trinamool Congress’s candidate from Rajabala Md Mizanur Rahman Kazi (Photo by MM) said on Wednesday the NPP-led MDA government did nothing for the development of the constituency, employment and the farmers despite the promises made in 2018.
The Trinamool candidate said there is a need to develop roads, sanction new roads and work for the overall development of people here.
“This is the reason why I left NPP. Now, people want a party that will bring development. Be it the tribals or the non-tribals, everyone feels the same,” said Kazi, who contested from the constituency on NPP ticket in 2018 but lost to late Azad Zaman of the Congress.
Kazi sounded confident when he said that the Trinamool Congress has good prospects in Rajabala despite the NPP often terming it a Bengali party or an outsider party.
“That is ridiculous. Even the chief minister’s father, PA sangma sir, fought from Trinamool. People here have accepted the party. And talking about the outsider party, is not Congress or BJP outsider? Both the parties are from Delhi,” he added. Kazi informed that there are 22,000 non-tribal voters in the constituency.
When pointed out that the Bengali-speaking Muslims are often termed ‘Bangladeshi’, Kazi said it was sad that people think so because “these people have been living here for generations now”.
