Shillong, Feb 3: The returning officer, West Shillong has issued a notice to the NPP general secretary to reply by February 4 regarding the distribution of freebies in the constituency.
The suo motu action for the violation of model code was based on the video on YouTube and other media channels.
Seizure of CGI sheets under Dadenggre
Election officials said as per the report of FST 49/B, a spot enquiry was conducted by FST 49/B as a vehicle carrying 216 CGI sheets was detained by the villagers that were intended to be distributed to the people in Chibinat, Dadenggre.
Dadenggre is currently represented by cabinet minister James Sangma.
Videography captured by the villagers was also furnished. The seized items were deposited in Rongram police station, the officials added.
