NPP harps on development as Ampareen files papers for April 19 polls

Shillong, Mar 22: NPP is harping on development agenda as its candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh filed nominations on Friday.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters that the party hopes to secure both Shillong and Tura seats based on the development agenda of the party.
Ampareen, who was the first to file her nomination papers for the April 19 polls, ruled out anti- incumbency against NPP.
Besides Prestone, she was accompanied by chief minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, cabinet minister Comingone Ymbon, KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem, MLAs – Santa Mary Shylla and Wailadmiki Shylla and hundreds of supporters from the NPP state office to the DC’s office.
Earlier, she also paid tribute in front of her father’s bust (L) Peter Garnette Marbaniang, who was also a former MP of Shillong, at Laitumkhrah.

Advocate Peter Shallam also filed his nomination papers as an Independent candidate. He is from Laitkor.
