Shillong, June 23: Along with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), the Meghalaya State Olympic Association(MSOA) celebrated the International Olympic Day on Wednesday.
John Kharshiing, Working President, MSOA, said the executive council members of the MSOA started the day with many events to celebrate the Olympic Day along with the international community.
The activities included distribution of food packets to the Shillong traffic police personnel on duty as a gesture of appreciation to frontline workers combating the war against Covid -19, handing over of Oximeters, PPE kits and N95 masks to Dr Andreas Dkhar, Joint Director, Meghalaya Health Services, Civil Hospital, Shillong, DDK Shillong Live discussion on Olympic Day 2021, programme on AIR FM Radio 100.1 megahertz and DDK talk on Olympic Day.
Besides digital messages on social media, a message was also received from Banteidor Lyngdoh, Sports Minister, Kharshiing said.
