
Shillong, March 18: The student who was critical after the food poisoning incident in Karnataka, passed away at Apollo Hospital, Mysuru, on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Namebantie Marwein, c/o Tobarlin Nongsiej Sohparu, West Khasi Hills.
He was shifted to Apollo hospital from Malavalli Government Hospital in Mandya after his condition deteriorated.

The Commissioner and Secretary Home CVD Diengdoh accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Mandya (in picture) visited the hospital to assess the situation.
Many students from the illegally-run hostel of the school in Mandya fell ill after they were served with leftover food during the Holi celebrations on March 14.
On March 16, one of the students, Khrehlang Khongtani from Lyndem, Pynursla, East Khasi Hills died after he was brought to the government hospital.
“Pained to learn the passing of another young boy from Meghalaya in Karnataka. My deepest condolences to the family. Our Government will extend ex gratia of ₹3 Lakhs to the next of kin and also take care of the medical expenditure of all the ailing children. Our team is in Karnataka to assist the families in this difficult time. Prayers for their recovery”, Conrad Sangma announced.
