Speakers expunges his own words

After Celestine expressed displeasure over  Speaker Thomas Sangma stating that the members were wasting their time, the Speaker expunged his own words from the Assembly proceedings.

He, however, did not want to correct the decision on demands for grants.

Later, all the Opposition members walked out of the House though the government defended that the opposition members were part of the decision on supplementary demands for grants when the Business Advisory Commitee met.

Later, senior member Mukul Sangma and other members of the Opposition briefed the press on the violation of the rules stating that the supplementary demands for grants should not have been passed on February 23.

All the demands for supplementary demands should be taken up together after the Chief Minister replies to the discussion on the budget, they said.

In response to the decision of the BAC , Mukul said the Business Advisory Commitee only fixed the number of days and not the day today business transactions.

Earlier, the chief minister said opposition members do not want to listen to his reply on the budget discussion after seeing the good works happening in the state.
