Shillong, Feb 25: Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla said on Wednesday that during the last 10 years, 749 persons died due to HIV-AIDS in Meghalaya.
In reply to a question by Dr Mehtab Chandee Sangma(NPP) in Assembly, the health minister said the district wise break-up is East Khasi Hills (435), West Khasi Hills (8), Eastern West Khasi Hills (16) Ri-Bhoi (51), South West Khasi Hills (7) East Jaintia Hills (90) West Jaintia Hills(123), East Garo Hills (4) North Garo Hills (1)South Garo Hills (3) West Garo Hills (9) and South West Garo Hills (2)
