Shillong, Oct 16: State Congress president Vincent Pala will leave for Delhi on Wednesday to finalise the candidate for the Gambegre bypoll scheduled for November 13.
Jingjang M Marak, who is close to former MLA Saleng Sangma, is the lone applicant.

The bypoll was necessitated after Saleng was elected to Look Sabha from Tura seat.
While the NPP has fielded Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s wife Mehtab Chandee in Gambegre, former MLA Zenith Sangma’s wife Sadhiarani Sangma is the AITC candidate.
BJP is likely to field MDC Bernard Marak.
