Persons with disabilities get help

Shillong, July 27: Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) (CRCSRE-Shillong) in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and the District Administration of West Jaintia Hills District organised a distribution camp for Aids & Appliances and Niramaya Health Insurance Cards.

The camp was graced by  Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar as the Chief Guest and the local MLA Wailadmiki Shylla as the Guest of Honour. The Deputy Chief Minister was welcomed by Dr. Ram Shakal Sahani, Director, CRCSRE-Shillong and the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills.
During the programme, 27 aids and appliances were distributed to the persons with disabilities(Divyangjan). Furthermore, 23 Niramaya Health Insurance Cards were distributed and 15 new registrations were completed under the Niramaya Health Insurance scheme. The initiative aimed to promote inclusion, healthcare access and empowerment for Persons with Disabilities in the state of Meghalaya.
