Shillong, Feb 19: The main suspect in the Phulbari pre-poll violence has been placed under preventive detention till March 3, Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor said on Sunday.
To date, 47 persons have been arrested in connection with the violence and 142 have been bound down by the court under Section 107 of the CrPC, as per the reports of West Garo Hills police.

Several Trinamool Congress members were allegedly attacked by NPP workers at Charbatapara booth in the constituency on February 7.
