Police act against KSU for harassment of sex worker

Shillong, July 7: Police have responded to the FIR lodged by ROT Association of Meghalaya (RAM) against alleged harassment of a sex worker by KSU members of Moodymmai unit.

Earlier on July 2, the RAM had sent a complaint to the DGP for necessary action.

According to the FIR, on June 29, some members of the KSU, Moodymmai unit assaulted and abused a female sex worker at Moodymmai Deintharia, West Jaintia Hills.

The FIR also alleged that the members of the organisation have also been spreading on the social media platform, WhatsApp obscene photograph of the girl taken forcefully by them without her permission. There have been repeated attacks on her character where statements have been made that outrage the modesty of a woman, the FIR said.

Later on July 6, the West Jaintia Hills SP apprised the RAM that after getting information, the police officers responded to the matter. The police assured to resort to legal course of action.
