Shillong , Aug 7: The accused in the rape and murder of a minor girl in West Garo Hills was arrested by the police on Sunday night.
The body of the minor girl aged 12-13 was recovered on August 1 from Jangrapara village under Phulbari police station, West Garo Hills.

The accused Chanda M Sangma was seen by the villagers of Jangrapara. After receiving information, Phulbari police team searched the Jangrapara village and nearby forest area. After a night police operation, the team apprehended the accused person.
