Shiillong, Oct 6: Police carried out raid on Wednesday night to get information regarding planting of IED at NPP office.
According to sources, the Special Operations Team along with bomb disposal squad carried out raid in search of a person in connection with the case at Umphyrnai village under Nongkrem.

Sources added that one person was picked up for interrogation.
He has been identified as Kupar Kharkongor, a daily wage earner and he is suspected to have planted the IED infront of NPP office.
Later , speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma confirmed the arrest of the accused and added that more details will be given later.
