Shillong,Oct 6:The UDP president, Metbah Lyngdoh said the party is open for unification of regional parties in Meghalaya.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Lyngdoh admitted that it was the dream of former UDP president (L) Donkupar Roy to unify regional forces in the state.

“Attempts have been made in the past to see that there is unity as far as the regional parties are concerned but at the end of the day, we have seen that we could not as there are different reasons for that,” he said
His response is after former Nongkrem legislator Ardent Basaiawmoit announced his decision to launch a new regional party named as the ‘Voice of the People Party (VPP)
