Police sing Covid song to enthuse frontline warriors

Shillong, June 11: Meghalaya police have come up with a tribute song to enthuse frontline workers during Covid.

Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek on Friday launched the tribute song “Aao Khaye Kasam” composed by the  Meghalaya Police and dedicated to all the front line warriors in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

The song was released at a programme held at the police headquarters.

The health minister lauded the police for coming up with the initiative in order to instill hope among the frontline workers and to bring a sense of encouragement in carrying out their duties.

He informed that besides this, the police force in the state has been contributing in many ways towards the betterment of the people and the state.

“In order to safeguard and protect ourselves and our fellow citizens from this disease, it is our responsibility to unite and fight together to defeat this invisible enemy”, he added.

Hek said the only shield against the disease is vaccination and more emphasis is needed on dissemination of the required information and facts to the people and to dispel myths and fears related to the Covid vaccine.

The health minister said that the Information & Public Relations department is working tirelessly and has been intensifying awareness through various modes of information dissemination throughout the state right from the village level.

DGP, R. Chandranathan, additional DGPs I. Nongrang and H. Nongpluh, secretary and director, IPR, M. War Nongbri and director BS Sohliya respectively were present.
