Shillong, Mar 4: The police have slapped various provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) on the arrested HNLC leader Storgy Lyngdoh (in picture).
Besides, several sections under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) were also added. The UAPA sections are 10 (penalty being part of the association),13(punishment for unlawful activities),16 (punishment for terror activities)17 (punishment for raising funds and 18(punishment for conspiracy)while the IPC sections are 120B (criminal conspiracy) ,506 & 507 (criminal intimidation),384( punishment for extortion) and 511(attempt to commit offence punishable under imprisonment for life or imprisonment.
