Prestone slams double standard of VPP on Hindi

Shillong, Apr 2: NPP leader Prestone Tynsong criticised the Voice of the People Party (VPP) for its double standard on Hindi language outside Assembly.

Speaking to journalists, Tynsong said he has seen the VPP had come up with an appeal written in Hindi.

“I don’t know from where did they get a professional to draft this Hindi statement or appeal, so better ask from them but my personal opinion is it looks so dramatic because inside the Assembly you say something and outside the Assembly something else and not only that during the campaign again you say something else. So I think we leave it to the wisdom of the voters, let the voters ask this question at the appropriate time,” he said.

He said the NPP stands for the interest of the tribals across the country.

Tynsong said unlike the VPP, whose love for the jaidbynriew is confined only within few districts of Meghalaya, the NPP is making sure that tribals from Meghalaya, from the North East region as well as the whole nation, are fully protected at any cost by the government of India and by respective states.

“If you go by our constitution, we are for the tribals and if you translate that into Khasi it is for the jaidbynriew. Wherever the tribal people are there means the NPP stands for them,” he said.
