Shillong, June 14: The inquiry into alleged mismanagement in MeECL is yet to start.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told reporters on Monday that the government has not finalised the names of the chairperson and members of the inquiry committee.

The task of the committee is to probe into the alleged irregularities in MeECL.
“Since we need to ensure that there is a complete sense of independence, we have asked for diverse names of people who will be put in the panel so that we are able to give it a good structure which will truly be independent in nature,” the chief minister said.
He said the political department and the chief secretary are going through the names and they will be placed before the government.
