Shillong, April 10:The judicial inquiry commission investigating the death of former HNLC leader Cherishstarfield Thangkhiew, examined the investigation officer of Khliehriat police station on April 8 for three hours as part of gathering evidence.
The officer was examined as the police had claimed link of Thangkhiew with the bomb blasts in Khliehriat. Moreover, the officer had seized weapons, laptops and mobile phones from the residence of Thangkhiew.
Retired Chief Justice T Vaiphei who is heading the probe said the task will be completed within the extended period which will be May last week.
On February 25, the government had extended the tenure of the commission for three months.
The next hearing will be held on April 22 and the evidence gathered wiill be discussed.
Earlier, the commission had examined five police personnel, the doctor who conducted postmortem, the doctor who had treated Thangkhiew and the family members of the diceased.
