Good Samaritans come forward to help 27-year-old victim of accident

Shillong, July 18: Project Clean Surrounding has helped one of its volunteers get a prosthetic leg.

Aiborlang Lyngdohmarshyllong lost his right leg to an accident in 2022. “A Bolero hit him when he was crossing the road and his right leg was completely damaged and had to be amputated,” said Jefferson Kynjing, who leads the Project.

Kynjing posted about the 27-year-old’s ordeal on social media and shared the story with an St Edmund’s School alumni group. “Members of the SEPPA (St Edmund’s Past Pupils’ Association) Cares group and the regional forest officer from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change took the initiative to help him,” said Kynjing.

On July 18, Lyngdohmarshyllong got a prosthetic leg at Jaipur Foot, Guwahati.

“He will continue to work with Project Clean Surrounding and I thank everyone for the support,” added Kynjing.
