Project Clean Surrounding holds awareness initiative in Nagaland

Shillong, May 3: Project Clean Surrounding, Shillong organised an event at Salt Brook School, Chumoukedima,Nagaland, on May 1 with the aim of promoting environmental awareness, cleanliness, and social responsibility among the community.
The programme included a cleaning drive, where students and volunteers participated in collecting waste materials, especially plastic, from the surroundings. This activity highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean environment and reducing pollution.
In addition, a tree plantation drive was carried out to encourage the protection and growth of greenery.
The participants ( teachers & students of the school) planted saplings and were educated about the long-term benefits of trees in maintaining ecological balance.
An awareness campaign on the dangers of plastic was also conducted. Through speeches and interaction with the students, the speakers spread awareness about how plastic harms the environment and human health, and encouraged people to adopt eco-friendly alternatives.
Apart from environmental activities, the programme also focused on helping the needy. Visits were made to support orphanages and underprivileged individuals, where basic necessities and encouragement were shared, promoting kindness and compassion in society.
Project Clean Surrounding founded by Jefferson Kynjing, a resident of Shillong. is an initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness, environmental awareness, and social responsibility in communities. It focuses on creating a healthier, cleaner, and more caring society by encouraging people to take active steps in protecting both the environment and those in need.
