City schools dominate in Arts, Science & Commerce streams of HSSLC

Shillong, May 4:  St Anthony’s, St Edmund’s, St Mary’s and Laban Bengalee Boys HS Schools are among the city institutes that excelled in Science, Arts  and Commerce examinations of MBoSE. The results were announced on May 4.

However,  the higher secondary section of Don Bosco College produced the holder Dechro M Marak in science stream . The college also shared 10th position.

Priya Ghosh of St Edmund’s secured first rank in Commerce followed by Ankita Das in second position. Out of 10 positions, St Anthony’s secured 7.

In science stream, Amos Chinminlun of St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong stood second with 470 marks, followed by Vishal Rai of Laban Bengalee Boy’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong in third with 464 marks.

The stream recorded a pass percentage of 83.70%, with 3,124 out of 3,732 candidates clearing the exam across 70 centres.

South West Garo Hills recorded 100% pass percentage, followed by West Khasi Hills at 95.78% and West Jaintia Hills at 93.50%.

In the arts stream, Meghashree Roy of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong topped with 457 marks.

Joziah Daman Laloo and Nakisakahuni M Pakyntein, both from St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, secured second and third positions with 452 and 446 marks respectively.

A total of 20,882 out of 23,559 candidates passed the exam held in 113 centres, registering a pass percentage of 88.63%.

East Khasi Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills jointly recorded the highest pass percentage at 96.20%, followed by West Khasi Hills at 94.94% and West Jaintia Hills at 92.98%.

In Commerce, Ankita Das and Rishika Debnath, both from St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, bagged the second and third spots with 453 and 452 marks respectively.

The pass percentage stood at 87.49%, with 2,155 of 2,463 candidates declared successful across 58 centres.

East Jaintia Hills topped the district-wise performance at 98.18%, followed by West Jaintia Hills at 94.70% and Eastern West Khasi Hills at 94.68%.

The vocational stream recorded the highest pass percentage at 95.23%, with 20 out of 21 candidates clearing theexam.
