
Shillong,May 4: The state BJP leaders celebrated the victory of the party, especially in West Bengal and Assam, and asserted that after the 2028 Assembly polls, the party will lead the government in Meghalaya.
Speaking to reporters on Monday (May 4), BJP MLA AL Hek said many sitting and former MLAs besides the MDCs will join the party soon.
“We will be able to form a BJP-led government in Meghalaya after the 2028 polls”, Hek said.
The BJP Minister Sanbor Shullai said with the development agenda of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party would form the government in 2028.
The party chief spokesperson M Kharkrang said the BJP will secure double digits in Meghalaya in the next polls
However, challenges are many for the party in Meghalaya, a Christian dominated state unlike Hindu majority states like West Bengal and Assam.
In response, the BJP state leaders said that the Christians voted for the party in Assam and West Bengal.
