Concern over attacks on Naga villages
The Naga Women’s Union (NWU) has expressed “deep concern over the coordinated attacks” upon Naga villages including Litan, Sinakeithei, S. Laho Sharkaphung, and Thoyee villages of the Ukhrul district, and Ireng, K. Lungwiram, Waphon Inthan, and Thonglang villages in Senapati district by the Kukis, including the Suspension of Operation (SoO) militants, “to serve their wishful interest and wild political claim within the Naga homeland”.
The NWU alleged that all these “calculated attacks” had taken place one after another under the watch of the government with massive security forces deployed in Manipur. It said such an indifferent attitude of the central and state governments is unbecoming and raises serious questions.
