Shillong, May 17: The PWD officials together with engineers inspected the Shillong-Mawlai bypass bridge after it was damaged due to rainfall.
The assistant executive engineer (AEE) of the PWD, N Lyngdoh led the delegation.
Lyngdoh asked the engineers to complete the repair of the bridge so that the traffic is not disturbed along the road.
Lyngdoh said the bridge was damaged due to the overflowing of water from the drains along the Shillong-Mawlai bypass.
Lyngdoh said after making the drainage system along both sides of the road, the engineers will make arrangements for the removal of mud and stones and also for the renovation of the bridge.
“I have asked the concerned engineers to complete the repair of the work by today evening and we have also coordinated with traffic police to keep a check on traffic through the bridge,” Lyngdoh added.
