Shillong, Feb 14: Rayonald Kharkamni, outgoing MCA Vice-President, was elected Honorary Secretary of the Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA).
The result of the by-election of office bearers and the Councillor to the Apex Council of the MCA was announced on February 13 after the applications of all three candidates who filed nominations for the three vacant posts were scrutinized and declared valid.
W Khyllep, former state chief electoral officer, and MCA electoral officer, declared the results. Sengnab Momin, outgoing Member (Councillor), was elected as Vice-President.
The by-election became necessary as the outgoing Honorary Secretary, Gideon Kharkongor, expressed his desire during the last AGM of the MCA to be relieved from the post due to the increasing workload of his professional career. However, he will continue to help the MCA as he was elected to the vacant post of Member (Councillor).
