Shillong, April 7: Prominent political leader of the state, Robert Kharshiing (63) passed away on Thursday at Nazareth Hospital after a prolonged illness.
He was earlier associated with NCP and PA Sangma and represented the state in Rajya Sabha.

He had also served as MLA of Laitumkhrah from 1990 to 1993.
Born on January 7, 1959, Robert, brother of Agnes Kharshiing, John Kharshiing and Francis Kharshiing, kept away from active politics for several years due to his illness.
