Journalists covering anti-war protests arrested

Moscow, March 13 (UNI/Sputnik): A high precision strike of the Russian Armed Forces killed up to 180 foreign mercenaries and destroyed large amounts of foreign weapons in western Ukraine, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday.

As a result of the strike on Ukrainian military centres in Starychi and a nearby training ground in Yavoriv district, “up to 180 foreign mercenaries and a large amount of foreign weapons were destroyed,” Konashenkov said.

The military centers and the training ground hosted a camp for foreign mercenaries and served as a warehouse for weapons that are being sent to Ukraine from abroad, Konashenkov said.

As shelling in Ukraine continues, the journalists covering anti-war protests in Russia were being arrested. According to CNN, Russian journalists Anastasia Romanova from MR7, Angelina Trofimenko from Avtozak Live, Anastasia Rogacheva from SOTA, Andrey Okun from Zaksru and Elena Lukyanova from Novaya Gazeta were detained during the anti-war protests in St. Petersburg.
