SC collegium recommends new CJ for Meghalaya

Shillong, Nov 2: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended appointment of Madras High Court Judge Justice S Vaidyanathan as the Chief Justice of High Court of Meghalaya.

According to an official notification, the recommendation was made on Thursday after the Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee retired on November 1.

Justice HS Thangkhiew will officiate as Chief Justice till Justice Vaidyanathan assumes office.

This will be an elevation for Justice Vaidyanathan after having served as a Judge for 10 years at Madras High Court.
