Shillong, March 21: Supreme Court lawyer Daniel Stone Lyngdoh received the North East Samaritan award under ‘Angels of North East’, on Sunday in New Delhi.
This award function was held at India International Centre in New Delhi organised by the Helping Hands.
The award was presented by Tara Gandhi, grand daughter of Mahatma Gandhi and Mary Kom, the international champion in boxing and Rajya Sabha member.
The autobiography of Robin Hibu the special commmissioner of Delhi police was also released on the occasion..
Lyngdoh said he got the award based on his and his team’s commitment to the people both pre-Covid Covid times.
He is the first person from Meghalaya to receive thie award.
He said the achievement was made possible through the team work of Helping Hands and the National Volunteers State of Meghalaya and members like Wallamkupar Nongsiej, Chekhamangu A Sangma, Dr Vanora Nongrum, Dr Mary Tariang, Eusebius T Chullai Dimsrang Sangma, Brian Neil Wahlang and others.
All India Forum Of Students’ leaders like Saif Ali Khan, Vishnu Ram, Issac Charenamei and many others also contributed resulting in the achievement.
He is also thankful to Khasi Student’s Union, Delhi and the Presbyterian Youth Today International Network and other leaders. He also acknowledged the contribution of Dr Bremley W B Lyngdoh, Powel Sohkhlet and other youths for helping the victims during the Covid crisis.
