Shillong, July 23: The Supreme Court wanted the trial of Sonam Raghuvanshi and others to be completed within six months.
An official source said that after cancelling the bail granted to Sonam on Thursday (July 23), the court said that the trial should be completed within aix months, and if not she can move the court again for bail.
With this, the trial is expected to be held daily.
Earlier, during the hearing, the court gave time for the counsel for Sonam to argue the case following which the response of the government was sought.
The court then granted two weeks for Sonam to surrender but her councel wanted one more week.
Hence, the court allowed three weeks.
The state challenged the orders of the High Court of Meghalaya delivered on June 27 and the trial court on April 27, highlighting that the reason for the arrest of Sonam was not made known to her.
However, the stand of the state government was that the grounds of arrest were made known to her in various stages.
The high court and the trial court had also pointed out errors while mentioning sections of arrests in various documents.

Following the supreme court order, the accused will have to surrender before the police.
The police will then take her for medical examination and forward to court before moving her to jail.
