Shillong, June 29: NPP MDC Bajop Pyngrope said that one of the reasons for toppling the Executive Committee of KHADC led by UDP member Titosstarwell Chyne is that he took away the council schemes to his constituency.
Pyngrope, who had moved the no-confidence motion said, “The schemes were concentrated in his constituency”.
He also said all decisions were taken by the CEM and a few Executive Members.
“We had no knowledge about these decisions”, he said.
Pyngrope also alleged that there was no transparency in appointment of staff for various posts in KHADC.
Betrayal statement an excuse
Pyngrope said the outgoing CEM terming his exit as betrayal by the NPP is just an excuse.
“There is no betrayal. We have the majority to pave way for the new EC”, he added.
To a question whether this will affect the MDA-2 coalition as UDP is supporting the government, Pyngrope said, ” I don’t know, I can’t make any statement in this regard”.
