Shillong,Aug 21:The search panel headed by Chief Secretary DP Wahlang has finalised the Chairperson and members of the expert committee to review the reservation policy.
An official source, who refused to release the names of the panel members, said on Monday that the search committee will place the names with the cabinet for a final decision.
The panel will consist of members from the state as well as outside.
The cabinet had on June 6 approved the search committee headed by the chief secretary to select members for the expert committee to review the reservation policy.
On August 14, the VPP had petitioned Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to know the status of the expert committee on reservation.
The VPP president, Ardent Basaiawmoit (in picture) had staged a hunger strike demanding the review of reservation policy.
