Shillong, Apr 13: Security personnel on Saturday carried out a foot march in the city ahead of the April 19 Lok Sabha polls.
The purpose is also to address the law and order situation as East Khasi Hills witnessed three murders-two in Ichamati and one in Mawlai Mawroh- in two weeks.

Disturbance during the poll campaigns was also reported.
A police official said the aim is to build confidence and also to deal with any eventuality. The route taken on Saturday is Laitumkhrah-Rynjah from the SP’s office. The route march will continue till the polls.
