Select committee to examine KHADC delimitation panel report

Shillong, July 10: The select committee of the KHADC will examine the report of the delimitation committee on readjustment of 29 council constituencies.

The House on Wednesday agreed to send the report to the select committee for further examination.


Opposition Leader Titosstar Chyne, MDCs B Rani, Lambor Malngiang, Latiplang Kharkongor and Gabriel Wahlang suggested the need to send the matter to be examined by the select committee.

According to Chyne, the views of traditional heads in some constituencies were not taken into account by the committee.

Wahlang pointed out that in Nongstoin district council constituency, the number of voters is more than that of the Assembly constituency.

Later, the chairman Lamphrang Blah announced the formation of the select committee with deputy CEM PN Syiem as the chairman and Titosstar Chyne, Jambor War
Bindo Lanong, Lambor Malngiang and secretary, KHADC as members.
