Shillong, June 28: The state government is yet to receive any official confirmation regarding the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Shillong in July.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told reporters on Monday that he has heard that the union home minister is visiting the state.
“When the Prime Minister or the Home Minister of the country is coming, we wait for the official communication from their offices. However, we have not received the official communication or the itinerary…we are waiting for that,” Sangma said.
The chief minister said a meeting of all the chief ministers of the eight Northeastern states will be held in the state capital next month.
Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police from the region will also attend the meeting.
Issues related to development, law and order, international boundary, insurgency and border problem would be part of the discussion, the chief minister added.
