Shillong, Sept 28: Shankaracharya hoisted Gau Pratishtha flag in ‘Meghalaya sky’ !.

He was flying with the cow protection group in a chartered flight from Agartala to Guwahati.

In a statement issued on Saturday , the cow protection group said, “Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj as soon as he reached the sky of Meghalaya as per his resolution and conveyed his determination for cow protection to the Meghalaya government and those who protested In other states, we could only hoist the flag at 21 feet, but in Meghalaya, you gave us the opportunity to hoist the flag at 21,000 feet. We will soon make our schedule of visiting Meghalaya public, we will definitely come and communicate with our relatives and discuss the message of Gaupratishtha with the sensitive people of Meghalaya.
While hoisting the flag, the pioneer of the yatra Shri Gopalmani Ji Maharaj, yatra -in- charge Mukundanand Brahmachari, yatra secretary Devendra Pandey, Gau Gathbandhan in -charge Raja Saksham Singh Yogi, Mukhtar Aam Rajendra Mishra and Brahmachari Shivanand were present”.

According to the group, Shankaracharya  installed the Godhwaj in Assam and Agartala this morning as part of his Bharat Yatra.

When Shankaracharya Avimukeshwarananda arrived at Agartala airport and was ready to go to Shillong, it was learnt that the Meghalaya government had ordered the Airport Authority that the plane should not be allowed to land in the state, the group said.

“The Director of Shillong Airport gave clear instructions to the Director of Agartala Airport, citing the security of the state, requesting that the special plane in which Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath is traveling cannot land at Shillong Airport in Meghalaya under any circumstances, the group added.

And hence as soon Shankaracharya reached the sky of Meghalaya, he hoisted the flag sitting in the aircraft.
