Shillong, Sept 28: The cow protection group on Saturday postponed the visit to the state but decided to move the Supreme Court against Meghalaya goverment and the Airports Authority of India for denying permission to land at Umroi airport.
The spokesperson of the group, Yogiraj Sarkar said on phone from Agartala airport that only the Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA) and union ministry of civil aviation can deny permission and hence it is a fit case to drag the concerned authorities to the court.
Earlier, in a video sent by the group, Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarandah was seen asking the letter of denial of permission from Agartala airport authorities which they could not provide.
The officials of the Airports Authority in Shillong also said permission was denied to land here.
The group was to land at 12 pm in a chartered flight.
