AAI says permission denied; group claims no knowledge

Shillong, Sept 28: The Airport Authority of India has denied permission  for the cow protection group led by Shankaracharya Avimukteshwarandah to land at Umroi Airport on Sept 28.

However, the spokespersons of the group said that they have not received any letter.

They said as the event at Agartala is over, they will head towards Shillong airport in the chartered flight.

An official with the Umroi Airport said on Saturday,that permission was denied to the group.

However, the spokespersons of the group, Raja Saksham Singh Yogi and Yogiraj Sarkar said they will arrive at Umroi airport within one hour and added that they have not received anything on denial of permission to land at the airport.

Yogi said only DGCA and union ministry of civil aviation can deny permission and not the AAI.

The activists of KSU, FKJGP, HITO, CoRP RBYF and HYC are camping on airport premises with their flags to protest against the arrival of the group (in picture). 

Ri Bhoi SP Jagpal Singh Dhanoa told reporters that the Agartala airport authorities have denied permission to the group to land at Umroi airport. ‘We don’t know yet whether they will come via road”, he added.
