Shillong, Sep 24: The Shillong Badminton Coaching Centre is organising the Shillong Autumn Open Badminton Challenge 2024 to celebrate the Autumn Festival and promote badminton and good health.
The tournament — which was opened by Rajesh Kamal, general secretary of Meghalaya State Badminton Association — started on Tuesday for boys and girls in the U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 categories. The 62 participants in these categories are competing in singles and doubles events.
The tournament will conclude on Saturday. The veterans will join the Challenge on September 27 and 28. Veteran players from Guwahati and other cities in northeastern states will also compete in the Challenge.
The Meghalaya Aids Control Society, Meghalaya Tourism, Wellness Club, Futsal, Umroi, Ri Bhoi District and other well-wishers are supporting the tournament.
