Shillong, Dec 14: After the Congress lodged the last batch of petitions against MLAs Charles Pyngrope and Shitlang Pale who had merged with AITC along with 10 others, the Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh on Monday issued notices to the duo.
The speaker has given one week’s time to reply why their actions will not fall under anti-defection law.

Earlier, ten legislators had replied to the notices issued by the Speaker following the complaints of the Congress.
When contacted, the Assembly secretariat confirmed that notices were issued to the remaining two MLAs .
The Congress is challenging the merger of its MLAs to TMC by saying that they have incurred disqualification.
