SSA teacher’s body wants release of Rs 104 crore

Shillong,Feb 17: The Meghalaya SSA School  Association president Aristotle C Rymbai has asked the state government to release the capping fund of Rs 104 crore meant for salary to the teachers as since October last, they are yet to receive the pay.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Rymbai said the state share of Rs 104 crore will help in clearing the salary of teachers for five months. The Centre contributes it’s own share for the salary of teachers.

He added the SSA teachers will continue the non-cooperation with government till their demands are met.

Later, the SSA teachers, who are not part of the association, urged Rymbai not to file any petition with the court as individually, they will not be in a position to fight the case.
