The association has been demanding regularisation of SSA teachers’ services, besides the implementation of a pay structure with enhanced salaries for SSA teachers.

The association will deliberate on the Supreme Court’s recent order, making it mandatory to clear the teachers’ eligibility test (TET).

Over 3,332 SSA schools in Meghalaya have submitted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to hand over their management to the state government, out of a total of 5,131 SSA schools in the state.

Out of this, there are 298 religious and privately managed SSA schools.
