Shillong, Mar 15: The state BJP president, Rikman Momin on Friday claimed that the CAA is a closed chapter.

“In the original Act of 1955, sixth scheduled areas’ exemption was not there. This was introduced in 2019 Act by the BJP Government. BJP cares about the well-being of the tribals and so introduced this exemption. The BJP government believes in taking everyone together though the Act was passed in 2019, the government deliberated  four years before notifying rules”, he said.

Momin said recently Rs 15000 crore has been earmarked to upgrade the  Umroi to Silchar road from two lanes to 4 lanes which testifies the pro people pro development agenda of the Modi government. Hence the state unit of BJP called upon the people of Meghalaya to support the candidates set up by the party for the coming lok sabha elections so that Meghalaya as a state can reap more benefits by sending two BJP MPs this time around.
