State has 11 women police stations
Shillong, March 16: The state has 11 women police stations.
Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui informed this in the Assembly on Wednesday while replying to a query by PT Sawkmie ( Cong)
Rymbui said the women police stations were sanctioned in 2018.
“However, for the 12th district of Eastern West Khasi Hills, the proposal will be done in due course of time,” Rymbui said.
Umroi legislator George B Lyngdoh (AITC) wanted to know if the government is making effort to ensure there is convergence between the home department and social welfare department for victims looking for psychological and legal aid.
In reply, the minister said government is providing help wherever it is needed.
